The Sesser Area Chamber of Commerce April 29,2008 meeting was called to order by President Angela Furlow. The minutes of last were read and approved as read. The treasure’s report was read by Treasurer Travis Severin with $1,794.85 in the General Account and $1,671.64 in the Oktoberfest Account.

Mr. Henry, said the circus did everything they said they would do and the school grounds was left in good shape. A $40.00 dumpster bill was presented for payment. With all the bills turned, we made a profit of $33.70. It was agreed to consider having the circus back in two years.

Travis Severin reported that he thought he would get $1250.00 approved for Oktoberfest 2008.

Ned Mitchell reported that a music show honoring a veterans would be held May 15, 2008 at the Sesser Historic Opera House. It is a fundraiser for Sesser-Valier Choir with half the profits going to them. The possibility of the chamber hosting a shoebox float contest with Joyce Gunter being in charge.

A motion was made by Mike Sulser to adjourn the meeting and Leandra Wilson seconded the motion.
