update on Ball Park
We have a lot to be excited about that will happen in the next few months. We
will complete our new park complex in time for baseball games this summer. This
23 acre park will feature four new baseball/softball fields and the crown jewel
of our area will be the $200,000.00 field that will be built and paid for by the
St. Louis Cardinal’s Redbird Rookie program. We will complete the construction
of three other fields, one lighted, and a parking lot big enough to park all the
cars we need. There will be a centrally located concession stand and modern
restroom facilities. In the future we have room to develop a walking path around
the complex, shaded picnic areas, and perhaps a soccer field. Sesser will have a
complex here that will be the envy of a lot of area towns. It will be unheard of
for a town our size.
We are in the midst of building a new little league ballpark complex on the East
side of town. This park will be the home of a very nice field that the St. Louis
Cardinals baseball organization will be constructing and the city will build at
least two adjoining fields. Eventually this area will have a walking track,
soccer fields, picnic area and other recreational activities for our families
and their guests to enjoy.
update on the ball park
Mayor Ned Mitchell talked on the plans for the new ball park at the Chamber
meeting on November 27 2007. One new field will be built and paid for by the St
Louis Cardinals. The land has been purchased by the City of Sesser and has been
surveyed and cleared. The future complex will include four fields, parking area,
walking track and possibly a soccer field and picnic area etc. in the future.
