Boards and Commissions

Sesser Library Board members are unpaid volunteers appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. Each member serves 3 year terms, and may be reappointed by the Mayor for as many terms as he/she wishes. The library board’s duties include assisting the librarian with grants and reports; attending a library board meeting on the 2^nd Monday of every month; and assisting with other library events as they wish to. Our library board consists of 7 to 9 members, and members must live within the city limits to qualify as a board member.

The intended purpose of the Opera House Board of Directors is to establish policies and procedures for the usage of Opera House facilities, as well as establish a plan to improve and increase the utilization of those facilities. Board members are unpaid volunteers appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
