What is the Fair Housing Act?
Under the Fair Housing Act, it is unlawful to discriminate in the sale, rental and financing of housing on the bases of race, color, religion, sex (including sexual harassment), national origin, ancestry, military status, age (40 and over), order of protection status, marital status, sexual orientation (which includes gender-related identity), unfavorable military discharge, familial status and physical and mental disability. It is the policy of the city of Sesser to promote fair housing.
